Manchester United’s move for Henrikh Mkhitaryan is thought to be close, after the clubs have now agreed a fee for the transfer of the Armenian. However, Jose Mourinho clearly had his eye on the Dortmund attacker before he even put pen to paper on a United contract.
That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who say that Mourinho and his assistant, Rui Faria, were spotted scouting Henrikh Mkhitaryan against Hertha Berlin last month. That all happened just one day after the self-proclaimed Special One held talks with Manchester United about the then vacant managerial job.
This just sums up Jose Mourinho to a tee. He loves to get his business done as early as possible and he isn’t messing around here.
What a signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan would be for Manchester United. There is no doubting his ability at the highest level – especially after last season in which he scored twenty times and also laid on twenty assists for his teammates.
