Picture: Jose Mourinho and Shaw share warm embrace following Man United win

Manchester United moved up to fifth in the Premier League table once again, with Jose Mourinho’s men beating Sunderland 3-0 without really playing at their best. Before the game, Luke Shaw was named in the starting XI which was brilliant to see following some recent criticism.

The Englishman played supremely well in my opinion, as he bombed forward where possible and more often than not he made the right decision in possession.

It felt like Mourinho had really fired up the young left-back with his comments, and those seemed to have worked an absolute treat. The 21-year-old also had a hand in a goal, as he picked up the assist for Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s bit of magic as the second half got underway.

However, Shaw had to be subbed off with what looked like an apparent injury just after the hour mark. It was brilliant to see an embrace with manager Jose Mourinho as he left the pitch, and obviously, it was picked up by all of the cameras as you can see below.

Also, there is a video of the incident here:

I really hope this issue isn’t anything serious, heck, it’d just sum it up for Shaw if he’s now out for a while. I’m sure Jose Mourinho will be thinking the same, too. This is the player that we have grown to love as Red Devils fans, and we all want it to work out for him here.

With plenty of games to play from now until the end of the season, I fully expect that we’ll see more of Luke from here on out.
