England took on Spain at Wembley Stadium last night, as the first international break of the season is well underway.
The first goal was made in Manchester. Luke Shaw fed Marcus Rashford excellently, who coolly slotted home past an onrushing David de Gea to give the Three Lions the lead.
It was superb to see Shaw playing for his country once again, particularly as he’s in such a rich vein of form to start off the 2018/19 campaign.
In attendance was a certain Jose Mourinho, and just after the goal, the camera panned to the self-proclaimed Special One who certainly looked impressed after the great work from his boys.

No doubt he’s thinking ‘what if’ these guys did that for club more often. However, Rashford has given him something to think about as the young striker tends to do far better when he’s playing through the middle.
After Romelu Lukaku’s excellent brace against Burnley, he may find it tough to displace the man from Belgium, but in a two, we’ve already seen just how capable the man from Wythenshawe is…
It’s certainly a tactic that we may well see employed in the future. Hopefully, one that brings success aplenty for the Red Devils.
