Picture: Lee Grant pictured at Manchester United training for the first time

It’s hard to believe that Manchester United Football Club will be back in Premier League action in around a month.

This summer has gone so quickly, largely thanks to the World Cup taking place and keeping us all busy.

Anyway, the wheels have always been turning at Old Trafford, and today, the first group of lads arrived back at Carrington as they returned to training.

Amongst those spotted by United’s eagle-eyed cameramen is new signing, Lee Grant. The 35-year-old (pictured in the second photo), was pictured alongside Luke Shaw and Joel Pereira, as preparations for the 2017/18 campaign get underway.

It’s certainly going to be an exciting year for Grant. Despite getting up there in age, this gives him an immense opportunity to train with some of the best players on the planet, week-in-week-out.

No doubt he’ll be relishing the chance at working with Jose Mourinho up close and personal, and with Sergio Romero seemingly still out injured after missing the World Cup, we could well see Grant feature quite prominently on pre-season tour.

The former Stoke City shot-stopper is no mug. He’s an excellent keeper in his own right, and make no mistake about it, he’s coming for David de Gea’s #1 jersey.
