One year on from David Moyes’ sacking as Manchester United boss, and the club is looking in a much healthier position all-round. The Iron Tulip has taken over the reigns, and although it took him some time to get going, United have finally found their feet.
The statistical comparison between the two managers is an odd one. Perhaps the most telling stat is the win percentage, with Moyes having a 50% win rate and Van Gaal slightly higher at 58%.
Van Gaal has guided his side to two more wins in one less game than Moyes, and scored more goals and conceded less.
However the pivotal thing to remember is the games that these results came in. Louis van Gaal has masterminded United to victories over the likes of City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs, whereas David Moyes couldn’t buy a win against the big sides.
It wasn’t clear where Moyes wanted to take this United team last term, but Van Gaal’s philosophy has been clear since minute one, and its quite obvious who the better manager of the two is.
