Manchester United pulled off something special last night, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to deliver huge results as interim manager.
It’s Marcus Rashford who’ll take all the headlines as he scored the winning penalty, but the reality is, Romelu Lukaku put us in that position with two cool finishes to keep United within touching distance.
The superstar Belgian has scored six goals in his last three games, taking his chances brilliantly and now he’s looking undroppable.
In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to get lost and forget that on the opposing side, there are players hurting. Not Lukaku, though, he showed his class by consoling Presnel Kimpembe…
It was Kimpembe who conceded the penalty, and he must be devastated. If we’re being honest with ourselves, I don’t think it’s a spot-kick so he must be hurting massively.
However, you have to play the cards that you’re dealt and Marcus Rashford took it wonderfully well. It’s also somewhat fitting that Kimpembe was the man who conceded it – don’t forget he probably should have been sent off at Old Trafford before he put PSG in front.
You cannot take away from Lukaku’s class, though. Credit to him for going right over to his opponents. That’s true sportsmanship right there.
