Picture: Man United star named in BBC’s Team of the Week after stunning display

Manchester United Football Club returned to winning ways with a huge three points at home to Newcastle United. Old Trafford felt like a special place on Saturday, due to various players returning from injury coupled with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford both starting together.

It was a game that felt like the Red Devils were about to start closing the gap in the table between themselves and Manchester City. The players looked confident, assured on the ball and deadly in the final third – and it’s all thanks to the return of one man in particular; Paul Pogba.

Since the Frenchman has been out injured, United missed him more and more as time went on. After two months out, the 24-year-old returned to the field and took the game by the scruff of its neck – winning it almost single-handedly despite not being anywhere close to full fitness.

For his display, Pogba rightfully earned his place in Garth Crooks’ BBC’s Team of the Week, although the pundit couldn’t help but take a jibe at his hairstyle which seems a bit pointless… At the end of the day, it’s his on-field displays that matter, and he was outstanding on Saturday.
