Manchester United maintained their 100% record in the Champions League on Wednesday night, with Jose Mourinho’s men sticking four past CSKA Moscow in an absolute thumping out in Russia.
The man that ran the show was undoubtedly Anthony Martial. The Frenchman was a thorn in Moscow’s side from the opening exchanges, and I’d go as far as saying it was the 21-year-old’s best performance in a red jersey this season.
He picked up two assists and also chipped in with a goal, albeit from the penalty spot, but it’s still a goal at the end of the day.
For that brilliant display, he has earned himself a place in WhoScored’s Team of the Week – and it’s only right that he’s got himself involved in their best weekly XI.

His score of 9.9 is bettered only by Wissam Ben Yedder who actually came away with a perfect 10. Martial is finding his feet nicely under Mourinho, and he’s certainly replicating that form that we all became accustomed to in his debut season at the Theatre of Dreams.
He’s just an absolute joy to watch when he’s in full flight, and long may performances like this continue. He’s turning himself into an undroppable player right now, giving the gaffer a real headache.
