PICTURE: Man Utd defender’s move away from the club confirmed

Burnley Football Club have confirmed the permanent move for Manchester United’s young defender, Michael Keane. Keane, 21 from Stockport has been on United’s books since 2009, but after a series of successful loan moves, he has finally left Old Trafford on a long-term contract.

Keane played for the United first team on a fair few occasions, including in a Capital One Cup tie away at Chelsea a couple of years ago. The young man always acquitted himself very well whenever given the chance, and although its a shame to see him go its probably in the best interests of everyone involved.

Given the emergence of Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair, its unfortunate that Keane wasn’t given the same opportunities as the duo, but there isn’t space for all three of them in the first-team squad.

Good luck, Michael!
