Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in a Champions League spot for next season are now all-but over, thanks to a 1-1 draw at home to league leaders Leicester City. Once again, Louis van Gaal’s men looked great for small periods of the match, but couldn’t keep it up throughout.
One man who was at the match watching the game was former Manchester United hero, Eric Cantona. The Frenchman was iconic at Old Trafford in the early 90s, as he helped secured United’s first title in years.
After the game, several members of the squad got the chance to meet one of their idols, and Chris Smalling took to Twitter this morning to post this photo of the pair:

Smalling, 26, has been one of the outstanding performers for Manchester United this season, and has been an absolute rock at the heart of our defence all season long.
His pace, ability to read the game, track back and win the majority of aerial battles has turned him into one of the best centre-halves in the Premier League, and more than deserves all the praise he is getting at the moment.
