Picture: Manchester United man provides injury update with a photo

Manchester United got back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, thanks to a convincing 3-0 victory over David Moyes’ Sunderland. The Red Devils didn’t really have to get out of second gear to claim all three points, but it was a pleasing result nonetheless.

In the midst of battle, Jesse Lingard picked up a rather odd yellow card after being kicked in the head by Sunderland’s Javier Manquillo. The Englishman went down clutching his head at the time, and now he has provided his Snapchat followers with a rather graphic image as to why.

Have a look at the photo that Jesse uploaded to Snapchat here:

At the end of the day, it isn’t anything serious but blimey that must have hurt. Getting studded is never fun, but taking a boot in the neck wouldn’t have been pretty. Obviously, it’s highly unlikely to keep him out of any fixtures, and it’s also nice that he can see the funny side of it.

Lingard is a footballer that Jose Mourinho clearly trusts an awful lot. The Englishman, who has recently signed a new deal, has been handed plenty of starts recently and to his credit, he’s been pretty good.

We’re lucky to have produced plenty of homegrown talents and it’s always brilliant to see those guys succeed.
