Picture: Manchester United man trains for first time in six weeks

Manchester United face one of their toughest tasks of the season so far, with Louis van Gaal taking his side to Anfield for the first match of a two-legged European tie. The Dutchman met the media earlier on, and confirmed that Bastian Schweinsteiger has returned to training after six weeks out.

The midfield maestro picked up a nasty looking knee injury in a Premier League game at the back end of January, and although at the time it wasn’t thought to be serious, it has kept him out of action for quite a while.

In his absence Manchester United have been extremely hit and miss, and the aura and calmness he brings to the middle of the park has certainly been lacking, so the sooner he can get himself back involved the better it’ll be for everyone.
