Manchester United narrowly made it into the last four of the Europa League tournament, where they’ll play Celta Vigo over two legs. The Red Devils beat Anderlecht 3-2 on aggregate, with the eventual winner coming from the left boot of Marcus Rashford.
Today, WhoScored.com released their Europa League Team of the Week, and it includes no fewer than four Manchester United players; all of whom are more than worthy of their spot within the team.
First up we have Sergio Romero. The Argentine commanded his area excellently throughout the 120 minutes, and everything that was sent his way he dealt with it well. With an 8.2 rating, his excellent performance has been recognised.
Next up we have Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who scored the opener for Manchester United yesterday. In typical fashion, he was buzzing about all over the field and more often than not he was making the right decision when in possession. He scored a 9.3 out of 10.
Then we have Paul Pogba, who put in one of his most impressive performances of the season. He sprayed some wonderful passes to his teammates, including a simply stunning ball into Marcus Rashford’s feet in the first-half. On the whole, he controlled the match and that was excellent to see.
Finally, we have man of the moment Marcus Rashford. The Englishman was outstanding. He made the right runs and absolutely ran the Anderlecht defence ragged. He should have scored midway through the second half but he finally found the back of the net deep in extra-time.
