Manchester United Football Club had a cracking weekend of football, with Jose Mourinho’s men winning, whilst both Liverpool and Arsenal dropped crucial points. The gap on the top four is just two points now, and we’re really putting the pressure on.
On Sunday, Leicester City were on the end of a 3-0 thumping by the Red Devils, in a result that Manchester United more than deserved. Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring, and that was quickly followed by an Ibrahimovic goal. Juan Mata rounded things off in the second 45.
WhoScored have released their Team of the Week for the weekend of 4th February, and it was, in fact, a defensive pair of Reds that made the cut.
First up, we have Antonio Valencia who was absolutely brilliant. His buccaneering runs really got United going in the right direction, and he even grabbed an assist for Ibrahimovic’s goal. He has been a real key figure recently, and going forward, ‘Tony V’ has to play every week.
Secondly, Chris Smalling got in on the act with an impressive 9.13 rating. I’ve been one of Smalling’s biggest critics this season, but he was great against The Foxes alongside Eric Bailly – and that partnership certainly bodes well for the future.
The United pair are joined in the team by stars like Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and former Red, Fabio da Silva.
