Manchester United Football Club have done it. The Red Devils won the Europa League in Stockholm last night, thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. It was a tactical masterclass from Jose Mourinho, in a game that we never looked like losing.
WhoScored have now released their Europa League Team of the Season based on their statistics and metrics system, and it includes the aforementioned Pogba.
The 24-year-old Frenchman has come in for heavy criticism from all corners of the footballing world this season and to be honest, most of it was unnecessary. On the whole, he’s had a brilliant season, putting in truly great performances at times.
Pogba scored a 7.7 rating according to WhoScored, which puts him in the middle of the park alongside Wilfred Ndidi of Genk. There is also a spot in the side for Virgil van Dijk of Southampton.
The scary thing is that, this is just the beginning for Paul Pogba. You can tell he is absolutely loving life back in Manchester and you get the impression that he will not stop until he wins the lot.
Not bad for a ‘dab merchant’ ey?
