PICTURE: Manchester United’s Bebe wins Pacos de Ferreria Player of the Year award

Yes, you read that correctly. Manchester United’s much-maligned winger Bebe has won Pacos de Ferreria’s Player of the Year award, and also scooped the top goalscorer title too.  Bebe scored thirteen goals in all competitions, and helped Pacos remain a top division side for another season at least.

As we all know, Bebe arrived at Manchester United for a hefty £7million without Sir Alex ever seeing him play. Since then he has made just seven first team appearances – all of which were in his first season at the club.

Since then he has been on loan at Besiktas, Rio Ave and Pacos de Ferreria, and it is now believed the latter want to take him on a permanent basis.  He was also tipped for a spot in Portugal’s provisional 30-man squad for the World Cup, but unfortunately that didn’t happen.

It’s hard to believe that Bebe has now been a United player for four years, but it looks like his fairytale story is coming to an end sooner rather than later.
