Manchester United had a solid month of October, certainly defensively anyway. The Iron Tulip has his side on lockdown at the back, not allowing any goals whatsoever. The month of October was extremely positive for that side of the game – with the side not conceding a a single goal since the horror show away at the Emirates.
That has been reflected in the fans’ choice for Manchester United’s Player of the Month, with Chris Smalling scooping the accolade for the first time in his Old Trafford career.
‘Mike Smalling’ has been a completely different player since his derby day horror show just over a year ago, and has certainly transformed into one of the better centre-backs in the Premier League.
If he continues to progress in this manner we could well have a future United and England captain on our hands, but lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
