Well, that’s that then. Memphis Depay’s move away from Manchester United is all done and dusted, and Lyon has not hung around in getting their new player a fresh shirt number. The 22-year-old has been handed the #9 jersey (see photos below) and he sure looks happy.
His new club confirmed the move on their social media account earlier today, and even unveiled him in an official press conference shortly after.
Sadly, the Dutchman came to the club with so much promise that he struggled to fulfill. You have to say he got plenty of opportunites under Louis van Gaal, but under Jose Mourinho it’s fair to say he was criminally underused.

Well, it’s done and dusted now, and he can now focus on playing for his new side out in Ligue 1. I personally hope he works wonders there, because there is no denying just how talented he is. He tried his best here – it just didn’t go as everyone thought it would.
He’ll certainly be given plenty of opportunites out in France, and hopefully, he can get tha confidence flowing again because that is absolutely detrimental to his game.
