Manchester United Football Club have always been known for their willingness to nurture and harness young footballing talents, and that’s a mantra that has carried on under Jose Mourinho.
The likes of Scott McTominay, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford are all first-team regulars, the manager has also signed Diogo Dalot who is just nineteen. Now another name has been added, and you’ll certainly recognise the surname.
Harvey Neville, son of Phil, has signed a deal at Old Trafford, with his dad taking to Instagram to confirm the news, while also expressing how immensely proud he is of his little boy.
Neville, who is just sixteen, has been signed back from Valencia; whom he moved to three years ago. Although it’s tough to work out whether teenagers will grow and prove their worth to the first-team, it’s brilliant to see the club giving these youngsters their opportunities.
As for Harvey, he certainly has some huge shoes to fill. His dad was an excellent defender, ad well, his uncle as an even better one!
I love the boldness and brashness with the shirt number he’s holding up, though. I cannot help but feel that this is Harvey signalling his intentions to go an awfully long way within the sport that is seemingly in his family’s blood.
