Picture: Paul Pogba all-smiles with Manchester United Player of the Month award

Manchester United Football Club announced their Player of the Month for April, with Paul Pogba scooping the award ahead of Ander Herrera and Alexis Sanchez.

The 25-year-old was pictured with the trophy on United’s official Twitter account, and it’s excellent to see Pogba’s brilliance recognised after an excellent individual month.

I don’t think anyone can doubt his best performance came away at Manchester City. In the second-half, he absolutely bossed the show, scoring two brilliant goals to drag the Red Devils back into the game; while denying our fierce rivals the title.

Aside from the derby day heroics, Pogba’s the reason why we were dragged back into the FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham. He used his strength to win possession back before playing in a delightful ball into Alexis Sanchez – who duly delivered with an inch-perfect header.

I’m just pleased that we’re seeing his immense abilities on a much more regular basis. He’s a world-class footballer and recently we’ve seen his talents shine through; particularly in the bigger matches.

With the FA Cup on the horizon, we’ll need Pogba to be at his best if we stand any chance at lifting the trophy. So hopefully, this brilliant form can continue through the month of May.
