Manchester United play host to Newcastle United on Boxing Day, with the Reds looking to get back to winning ways at the comfort of their home ground. Louis van Gaal has been boosted with the return of several first-team players back in training, including the likes of Luke Shaw.
The 5-3-2 seems to be much more effective away from home than it is when we’re playing at Old Trafford, and hopefully Van Gaal will revert to the more familiar 4-4-2 diamond formation to accommodate all his best attacking options.
Ander Herrera and Angel di Maria could both be in line for a return to the line-up, whereas Marcos Rojo is looking likely to play – particularly after a bad performance from Jonny Evans at the weekend.
