Manchester United are set for a huge summer transfer window, with Jose Mourinho to bolster the playing squad before a title challenge next year.
Today, The Metro report that Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred has arrived in England, as he looks to seal his move to Old Trafford before the World Cup.
The 25-year-old is part of Brazil’s squad that’ll take on Croatia at Anfield in a friendly on June 3rd, and it’d make perfect sense to get this deal completed while he’s here on English soil.
Fred has been heavily linked with a £43.8million move to the Red Devils this summer, and this latest piece from The Metro seems to back that up.
Reported Man United transfer target Fred arrives in England:
Midfield has been a real problem area for Jose Mourinho this season, and bringing in an immense box-to-box midfielder like Fred will certainly help. This has to be just the start, though, we’re going to need a huge summer of spending if we’re to challenge City next season.
Personally, I’d love to see Alex Sandro come in, also Toby Alderweireld. Perhaps a proven right-winger like Willian would be an excellent option too. It’s going to be a long summer, though, so just sit tight and see what happens!
