Manchester United’s move for Romelu Lukaku seems to be just hours away. The 24-year-old Belgian beast has some big shoes to fill in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and I personally think he’s more than capable of doing exactly that.
Yesterday, Kitbag UK could have accidentally let the cat out of the bag in regards to Lukaku’s Manchester United jersey number. It comes via their Instagram story, as they posted a photo of the black United kit with a number ten on the back.
Check out their Snapchat story here:
Personally, I always thought that he’d be getting the #9 after Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but Lukaku did wear the #10 whilst with Everton, so him keeping that number definitely makes sense.
With that said, he has some huge shoes to fill. The previous owner? Wayne Rooney, an absolute legend of Manchester United and the beautiful game in general.
Lukaku is a man who has scored a bucketload of goals wherever he has gone and I fully expect that to continue at Manchester United.
Hopefully, Edward Woodward will be pushing a deal through as we speak and we’ll be seeing him in action during our first pre-season game against the LA Galaxy on July 15th.
