Picture: Terrific Manchester United foursome named in BBC’s team of the week

Manchester United retained their place at the top of the tree with another excellent victory – this time away at Swansea City. The Red Devils put in a powerful, dominant display to overcome the hosts, who put up a real fight – particularly in the first half.

However, as the game wore on the superior fitness levels and sheer quality came through. The game finished 4-0, with all of the attacking line putting on a real display to be proud of. Defensively, we looked super solid, too.

Now, Garth Crooks has named his Team of the Week for the BBC, and four Manchester United lads have made the cut.

After keeping a clean sheet and scoring a goal, Eric Bailly was always going to get himself included. He was superb from the first minute right until last and more than deserves his place at the heart of the defence.

Then you have Antonio Valencia who was pretty good at right-back. Defensively, he didn’t give the Swansea attack a sniff of a chance, but personally, I would have put Phil Jones in my team.

Onto the midfield and there are no prizes for guessing who was included here. Henrikh Mkhitaryan picked up another two assists, taking his tally to four for the season already. Next to him, is Paul Pogba. The Frenchman had a frustrating first half, but in the second 45, he made the game his own. What a display from the big man.
