Things are seemingly looking up for Manchester United at the moment. We drew with Bayern last week, beat Newcastle in a convincing manner at the weekend and now today we learn that Wayne Rooney should be fit to take on Bayern Munich in what is undoubtedly our biggest game of the season so far.
The Reds head to Bavaria this afternoon, but before that a training session at Carrington took place this morning. Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs were both present despite concerns about their fitness. There were a couple of absentees though, as right-back Rafael didn’t take any part in training, neither did Marouane Fellaini.
Although Rooney didn’t have the greatest of games against Munich last week, he’s still of vital importance to our starting line-up because of his pure desire and work rate. He’s also capable of producing the spectacular, which may well be needed against the current European champions.
