PICTURE: ‘Welcome to Vanchester’ banner on display in Manchester

Manchester United Football Club and its fans have been reinvigorated with the arrival of new manager Louis van Gaal, and the 63-year old has started his United career with an unbeaten pre-season tour. He’ll face the Old Trafford crowd for the first time tomorrow, as Manchester United take on Valencia CF in their final friendly before the new campaign.

This banner has been placed in the City Centre recently, with the words ‘Welcome to Vanchester’ written across the front. Similar to the banner Manchester City infamously put up with Carlos Tevez’s ugly mug plastered across it.

This is a class touch from whoever’s idea this was, and as we enter a new era for the club it certainly makes me excited for the Swansea game this coming Saturday.
