Manchester United’s Champions League campaign couldn’t have gone any better thus far; scooping two wins from two fixtures.
Next up, a potentially tricky trip to SL Benfica. The Portuguese side has struggled in Europe so far, but they aren’t to be taken lightly.
Ahead of the clash, United’s official Twitter account posted a series of photos, including the players getting aboard the plane to Lisbon.

To my surprise, amongst the travelling bunch was Luke Shaw. The Englishman has struggled to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans since returning from injury, but it’s great to see him in the squad for an all-important Champions League clash.
The fixture will also see a return to an old stomping ground for Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and our manager; who began his career in charge of Benfica.
A victory here would go a long way towards Manchester United getting out of this group quite comfortably. Even a draw wouldn’t be the worst point in the world, as the other two teams (Basel & CSKA Moscow) obviously play each other – meaning at least one will drop points.
The game kicks off at 7:45 BST, Wednesday 18th October.
