Manchester United Football Club could well go all the way in the Europa League tournament this year, as I think it’s fair to say that on paper, we’re the strongest team left. No game at this level of football will be easy, however, and tomorrow the Reds play their first leg of the round of sixteen.
The opponents? FC Rostov. A side that Manchester United have never played a competitive game of football against in their history – so it should be interesting.
Ahead of the match, Jose Mourinho has been putting his players through their paces on the turf that they’ll take to tomorrow evening for the game. Shortly after training began, the official club Twitter account posted a few shots of the lads in action.
Have a look at the snaps here:
Involved in the photos are Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and a very smiley Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In my opinion, all of which should start tomorrow as they’ve been pretty good for us recently. Whilst we’re on the subject of Zlatan, he’s recently been hit with a three-game domestic ban, so I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t play.
Our opponents certainly have pedigree. It was only back in November that they turned over Bayern Munich on their own patch, in a game they won by a 3-2 scoreline. Our players will have to keep their minds on the task at hand throughout if they want to come away with a victory.
