Manchester United Football Club safely progressed into the FA Cup quarter-final this evening, with a convincing 3-0 victory away at Derby County.
Credit where it’s due, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has this side playing some nice football right now, with the Red Devils finding form at exactly the right moment.
The evening was made extra-special due to the fact that none other than Wayne Rooney was starting on the night. It’s always great to go head-to-head with club legends, and Wazza is certainly that.
It’s definitely fair to say that Rooney hasn’t lost his touch, that’s for sure. The Englishman was brilliant in that holding-midfield role all night long. He deserves immense praise for that.
Following the match, Rooney was pictured catching up with some of his old United pals – and it was certainly pretty cool to see. Thanks to the @ManUtd Twitter account for the snaps…
What was even cooler was the United travelling fans singing his name at full-time, with Rooney going over to them and offering applause. It’s stuff like this that makes you realise just how brilliant Rooney was for us. He’ll always be fondly remembered for everything he did for us.
Hopefully, Rooney can continue to impress for Derby for the season’s remainder. He deserves a brilliant end to a glittering career, and all credit to him.
