Player Ratings: FC Rostov 1-1 Manchester United – Magical Mkhitaryan

Sergio Romero – Unfortunately won’t get a clean sheet but there wasn’t much he could do about it. 5/10

Ashley Young – Went about his defensive job effectively, but he was quite limited in an attacking sense. 5/10

Phil Jones – I’m not quite sure what he was doing for the Rostov leveller. His positioning was just awful. 3/10

Chris Smalling – He’s just so clumsy. Recently his confidence looks shot and he’s struggling. 3/10

Daley Blind – I’ve never seen him get forward so much, but his final ball was lacking in quality. 4/10

Marcos Rojo – Played at left-back and did alright. Defended diligently but you expect better when it comes to passing out from the back. 5/10

Marouane Fellaini – Very combative in midfield. Won the battle in the first 45 but the pressure was piled on him in the second. 5/10

Ander Herrera – His usual lively self but struggled to find the right passes. The pitch didn’t help. 4/10

Paul Pogba – So poor. Some of his passing is just wayward and he is so lackadaisical in possession. Must do better. 3/10

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Scored our goal and he took it well. You can tell he has only just come back from injury, though. 6/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – A bit of wonderful technique to create the opener for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Had a decent evening on a tough pitch. 6/10

Subs:

Anthony Martial – Had a quiet half an hour.

Michael Carrick – Not enough time to mark.

Antonio Valencia – Not enough time to mark.
