Player Ratings: Luke Shaw steals the show as Man United beat CSKA Moscow

Sergio Romero – Had a quiet evening barring picking the ball out of the net as the first half wound down. 5/10

Antonio Valencia – Got himself forward where possible. Didn’t have much defending to do. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Another calm and composed night for Lindelof. He’s growing into the role nicely. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Led the back line excellently. Won headers aplenty. Kept things tight. 6/10

Daley Blind – Hasn’t been involved recently, but his reading of the game was exceptional tonight. 6/10

Luke Shaw – What a night for the young man. Started his first game in 219 days and put in a Man of the Match performance. Offensively, we don’t have a better left-back. 8/10

Ander Herrera – Did alright. Subbed off as soon as United took the lead, which is perhaps an indicator he’ll play on Sunday. 5/10

Paul Pogba – Bossed it as per usual. He’s at the heart of everything good about United’s attacking play. 7/10

Juan Mata – His touch is exceptional. Mata tried some tricky passes, but unfortunately, they didn’t come off for him tonight. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Scored a vital goal to end his drought and give United a victory. He just keeps improving. 6/10

Romelu Lukaku – A’la Rashford. He scored at a vital time and will be in confident mood ahead of the derby. 6/10

Subs:

Scott McTominay – Sured things up in the middle.

Axel Tuanzebe – Nice to see him back involved.

Anthony Martial – I’m not sure why Jose risked him for the last fifteen minutes, but he came through unscathed.
