Player Ratings: Man United 0-2 West Ham United

David de Gea – Should have probably done better for Aaron Creswell’s free-kick… Couldn’t do anything about Andriy Yarmolenko’s opener. 4/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Easily United’s best player. Won tackles galore, tried to get forward and played the ball into menacing areas. 8/10

Victor Lindelof – Average. Always looks like a nervous wreck when under any pressure whatsoever. 5/10

Harry Maguire – Missed a glaring opportunity to equalise with the score at 1-0. Won plenty of headers in his own penalty box. 5/10

Ashley Young – Apparently, it’s cool to hate Youngy but I actually thought he was decent this afternoon. 5/10

Scott McTominay – Comfortably United’s best midfielder, but the pressure shouldn’t be on a 22-year-old’s shoulders. 6/10

Nemanja Matic – Slow, wasteful and just doesn’t look interested. 3/10

Andreas Pereira – What does he do? I just don’t understand why he continually gets handed starts because, well, what’s he good at…? 3/10

Juan Mata – I mean, I know Mata’s a nice guy and all that but tough away games just aren’t for him. Missed basically an open goal at 1-0 and wasn’t anywhere near good enough throughout the game. 3/10

Daniel James – Pretty quiet aside from a few direct runs down the wing, but you can’t expect all United’s attacking force to come from a new signing… 5/10

Marcus Rashford – I’ll cut him some slack as he looked injured practically from the first whistle. His effort never stopped, but this one is on Solskjaer for cutting the squad so thin. 5/10

Subs:

Jesse Lingard – Eh, the usual. Made some nice runs and created space but the final product was lacking.

Fred – I’m not sure why he didn’t start. Looked lively and sharp.

Angel Gomes – Thrown into the deep end at 2-0 down. Didn’t really get into the game.
