Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain

David de Gea – Could’ve done more to stop the opener, was also megged by Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his second. 5/10

Matteo Darmian – He has to start against Spurs. Was definitely United’s best player on the day. He looked good defending and attacking. 8/10

Phil Jones – At fault for both goals. Looked clueless as Ibrahimovic glided past him for their second. 4/10

Daley Blind – Looked solid for the most part. Still worry about him being a permanent centre-back in the team though. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Bombed forward on plenty of occasions, but he struggled with the ball into the box. 6/10

Michael Carrick – Played ok but not really any cutting edge from the Englishman. 5/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Nice to see him back but honestly he didn’t really threaten and you expect more from him. 4/10

Juan Mata – Had a goal disallowed early on in the first half, but went missing after that point. 4/10

Memphis Depay – Largely disappointing. Struggled against a top quality side as he looks to adapt to English football. 5/10

Ashley Young – Played for 45 minutes and struggled. rightly subbed off at half-time. 4/10

Wayne Rooney – Looked lacking in energy and fitness. Didn’t really threaten PSG whatsoever. 4/10

Subs:

Sam Johnstone – Commanded his box well. Didn’t have an awful lot to do in terms of shot-stopping. 5/10

Andreas Pereira – Didn’t look scared to have a go and attack. 5/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Brought legs to the midfield. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Definitely our best centre-back who commanded the back line nicely. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Extremely one-footed. It’d be a travesty if he started ahead of Darmian against Spurs. 4/10

Jesse Lingard – Not enough time to mark.

Sean Goss – Not enough time to mark.

I agree with the ratings apart from Phil Jones, to tell you the truth he would be lucky in my opinion to get one out of ten, he has played absolutely rubbish since he has been at Utd he has had to many chances and its time for him to go, by playing him it shows how weak utds central defence is.
