David de Gea – Made another stunning save to prevent Hazard from scoring in a one-on-one. Also kept Didier Drogba out with another fine effort. 8/10
Rafael – Pulled Hazard back cynically early in the first half and picked up a cheap booking. Was excellent defensively after that point though, and couldn’t really stop Didier Drogba in the air due to the size difference. 7/10
Chris Smalling – Did very well upon his return, and dealt with Drogba’s power well. Still has more to give 6/10
Marcos Rojo – Struggled physically, and his distribution was poor on occasion. Must improve. 5/10
Luke Shaw – Acquitted himself wonderfully against his boyhood club. Linked up well with Januzaj down the left-hand side, and got some good crosses in. Excellent talent. 7/10
Daley Blind – Passed it well, but struggled against the size and power of Matic. 5/10
Marouane Fellaini – The best player on the park. He won headers, won tackles, passed the ball and kept the play moving. Hugely impressive performance. 8/10 Man of the Match.
Juan Mata – Struggled with Chelsea’s power from the off. Couldn’t make an impact on the game whatsoever and was rightly subbed in the second half. 4/10
Angel Di Maria – Probably his poorest game in United colours. He seems to suit playing central or on the left much more, but somehow still managed to deliver an excellent cross which led to the goal. 5/10
Adnan Januzaj – Adnan was excellent. He ghosted past his man Ivanovic on more than one occasion and more often than not got a decent cross in. Also played Van Persie in with a lovely through ball in the first half. 7/10
Robin van Persie – Held play up superbly, kept United in possession and scored the all-important leveller in injury time. Excellent performance. 7/10
James Wilson – Did well. Unlucky not to have scored with a looping header. Huge future. 6/10
