Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-1 Everton

David de Gea – Superb penalty save, followed up by some excellent last-mminute stops to deny Everton an equaliser. Man of the Match. 9/10

Rafael – Got forward for the first goal, and made some pivotal interceptions defensively. 7/10

Paddy McNair – Did superb once again. Dealt with the physicality of Romelu Lukaku excellently. 7/10

Marcos Rojo – Guided McNair through excellently. Made some good tackles. Still finding his feet in England. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Conceded the penalty which De Gea later saved, and was then subbed off injured. Can play better. 5/10

Daley Blind – He seems to be absolutely everywhere. He breaks up play superbly, and his work-rates are ridiculously good. Something United have needed for years. 7/10

Angel Di Maria – Super finish, and he grabbed an assist for United’s second. Once again continues to light up Old Trafford. 8/10

Antonio Valencia – Not a natural midfielder, and that showed. 5/10

Juan Mata – Fairly quiet in Rooney’s absence. He must up his game if he is to stay in the United starting line-up. 5/10

Robin van Persie – Still struggling. He just seemed like he missed that killer instinct he had in his debut season. 5/10

Radamel Falcao – Relief sums up today. He took his goal superbly but probably should’ve had one sooner. The Columbian seems to fit right in at United. 7/10

Substitutes:

Marouane Fellaini – Did ok. Kept it simple and kept the game flowing.

Tyler Blackett – Promising once again. He could well return to the line-up next time out.

James Wilson – Great to see him involved. Big future.
