Player Ratings: Manchester United 3-0 Spurs

David de Gea – Didn’t have a save to make. His kicking game was a bit off though. 5

Antonio Valencia – Wasn’t tested once, but didn’t bomb forward as much as you’d like. 5

Phil Jones – Had an easy afternoon. Kept Harry Kane under control and didn’t offer Spurs anything. 6

Chris Smalling – Looked sturdy, strong and won everything in the air. Got forward on occasion too. Superb. 7

Daley Blind – Shifted to left-back and played outstanding. He overlapped Young when needed and the pair gelled together nicely. 7

Michael Carrick – Calmness personified. Brought a midfield presence back into the side and kept the ball ticking. Wonderful performance. Man of the Match. 9

Ander Herrera – The Spaniard was everywhere. He picked the right passes and made the right runs. 7

Marouane Fellaini – Took his goal brilliantly, and kept United in the driving seat. If we’re being picky he could’ve done more with his knock-downs. 8

Ashley Young – Had a blinder. Beat his man time and time again and got a good cross in more often than not. 8

Juan Mata – Nice to see him back involved. Certainly took his chance. 8

Wayne Rooney – Scored a superb goal and an equally good celebration came with it. Led from the front. 8

Subs:

Andreas Pereira – Nice to see a Premier League debut for the lad.

Radamel Falcao – Didn’t have time to make an impact.

Rafael – Not enough time to score.
