Player Ratings: Manchester United 3-0 Stoke City – magnificent Martial

David de Gea – Didn’t really have an awful lot to do. Commanded the back line well. 6/10

Matteo Darmian – Great to see him back, did his defensive duties well, and offered a threat going forward. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Won the aerial battle with Peter Crouch and wasn’t afraid to play out from the back. 7/10

Daley Blind – Got United going forward quickly. Superb. 7/10

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson – Excelled once again. Deserved his assist for Lingard’s opener. 8/10

Marouane Fellaini – Did quite well. Passed the ball nicely, won his battles and helped control the midfield. 6/10

Michael Carrick – Nice to see him back. Kept it simple and bossed the midfield. 7/10

Anthony Martial – What a star. Bullied his man from the get-go and deserved his goal. 8/10

Juan Mata – Drifted in and out of the game, although you expect more. 5/10

Jesse Lingard – Linked up nicely with Rooney and took his goal well. 6/10

Wayne Rooney – Led the line excellently and is in brilliant form at the moment. Nice to see him score again. 8/10
