Player Ratings: Manchester United 4-1 Burton Albion – Lacklustre Lindelof & Rampant Rashford

Sergio Romero – Cool, calm and collected. Largely untested but distributed the ball well. 6/10

Matteo Darmian – Defended well, but doesn’t offer all that much going forward. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Not too bad. Headed everything clear and tried to help his partner through the game. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – He looked very nervous at times. Also, his passing out from the back wasn’t that sharp either. 3/10

Daley Blind – Nice to see him back in the team. Strolled through the match. 6/10

Michael Carrick – His first match of the campaign and he made it look so easy. 7/10

Ander Herrera – His usual lively self. Played some brilliant passes forward. 6/10

Juan Mata – Created some traffic opportunities and was unlucky not to score. 6/10

Jesse Lingard – Excellent. He made some great runs and kept the defence on their toes. Mourinho will be pleased. 7/10

Marcus Rashford – Scored a first-half brace including an outrageous second strike. The Burton defenders will be having nightmares tonight. 8/10

Anthony Martial – Wow. What a sensational player this young lad is. I was so pleased he got a deserved goal in the second half. 8/10

Subs:

Luke Shaw – Brilliant to see him back in action. He looked sharp.

Scott McTominay – Looked pretty good when he came on.

Joel Pereira – Made an error at the end which cost United their clean sheet.
