Player Ratings: Manchester United’s season summed up with embarrassing loss to West Brom

David de Gea – Literally had nothing to do – except pick the ball out from the net. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – We just need more from him, particularly in the final third. Doesn’t bomb forward enough. 4/10

Chris Smalling – Did alright for the most part. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Marshalled the back four pretty well. He’s growing into the role as a Manchester United player. 6/10

Ashley Young – Similar to Valencia. You want him to bust a gut and get involved in the attack. He was far too static. 4/10

Nemanja Matic – Very sloppy and careless this afternoon. Just didn’t dominate the midfield. 4/10

Ander Herrera – Hooked at half-time, heck, any one of his teammates could have suffered the same fate. Never really got going. 4/10

Paul Pogba – I’m losing patience with this lad. How can you go from putting in such a dominating performance against the Champions to that dross this afternoon? 3/10

Juan Mata – Poor throughout. Just couldn’t pick the right pass or make the right run. 4/10

Alexis Sanchez – Pretty woeful. He showed some nice touches and passing interplay, but it never led to any clear-cut opportunities. 4/10

Romelu Lukaku – Same old story. Worked hard, his first touch was average and he didn’t get the service. 5/10

Jesse Lingard – His movement was nice, but the final pass was lacking.

Anthony Martial – Didn’t really trouble WBA’s back four.

Marcus Rashford – Gave it away far too often.
