Player Ratings: Stoke City 1-1 Manchester United

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about the goal. If we’re being picky he could’ve claimed a few of Stoke’s corners, but all in all it was a quiet day for him. 6/10

Phil Jones – Completely left Shawcross for their goal, and should’ve done much better. Did alight aside from that. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Controlled the back line better as the game went on. Probably our best centre-back at the moment. 6/10

Jonny Evans – Looked lost from minute one, and he brings panic to the defence whenever he plays. At 27, you do wonder if he has a future at the club long-term. 3/10

Ashley Young – Performed very well until he unfortunately picked up a hamstring injury. Gutted he’ll be out for the next three weeks or so. 6/10

Luke Shaw – Very solid defensively but looked sluggish going forward. That’ll come as he regains match fitness. 5/10

Michael Carrick – Picked some decent passes but never really troubled the solid Stoke defence. 6/10

Wayne Rooney – Struggled to stamp his influence on the game going forward, must do better if he is to continue as a central midfielder. 5/10

Juan Mata – Picked some nice passes but got caught in possession a few too many times. 6/10

Robin van Persie – Not one of his better days. Didn’t really get on the ball as much as he’d have liked. 5/10

Radamel Falcao – Definitely our best player today. Held the ball up superbly and took his chance wonderfully. Unlucky to be substituted. 7/10

Subs:

Ander Herrera – Linked up nicely with Juan Mata. He brings much-needed energy to the middle of the park.

Adnan Januzaj – Looked understandably sluggish when he came on. Grew into the game but never really threatened.

Rafael – Not enough time to mark.
