Player Ratings: West Ham 0-2 United

Wayne Rooney stole the headlines with a Captains performance as United strolled to a comfortable victory in East London after 2 goals from our number 10.

David de Gea: Showed some great distribution, and collected the few balls that came his way. Never troubled though. 7/10
Rafael: Another good game from the Brazilian full back. Booked in the first half. 7/10
Michael Carrick: Injuries and suspensions meant he started in defence, and had a comfortable game. 7/10
Phil Jones: Dealt with the aerial threat from West Ham with relative ease. 7/10
Alexander Büttner: A few eyebrows were raised with Büttner’s inclusion, but he had a comfortable game, and much needed practice ahead of the Bayern Munich game. 6/10
Ashley Young: Poor in the first half, better in the second. Was involved in the first goal though, scooping the ball forward for Wayne Rooney’s excellent strike. 6/10
Darren Fletcher: An efficient and professional performance by Fletcher, protecting the back 4 well, as well as keeping the ball moving along nicely. 7/10
Marouane Fellaini: A good performance by the big man, breaking up play, and nullifying the aerial threat from Andy Carroll. Got forward too. 8/10
Shinji Kagawa: Nice to see Shinji play, and he didn’t disappoint, playing some neat football in behind Rooney. 7/10
Juan Mata: Great to see him behind the striker and he played some lovely football. Really flourished in his preferred position. Replaced by Welbeck. 8/10
Wayne Rooney: Captain for the evening, and scored a scorcher of a goal from just inside the West Ham half. His second was a tidy instinctive finish inside the box. His all round play was excellent. Replaced late on by Hernandez. 9/10

Javier Hernandez:
Energetic cameo from the Mexican as United closed the game out and gave Rooney a rest. 6/10
Danny Welbeck: Another tidy performance from the striker. Showed some lovely touches and I hope he starts on Tuesday against City. 7/10
