Pogba aggravates ankle injury, could be omitted from Man United’s squad vs AZ Alkmaar: report

Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal was rather forgettable. It was a game without any real quality whatsoever – and now things have been made even worse for the Red Devils.

In the aftermath, the Reds have been hit with an injury concern as 26-year-old United star Paul Pogba has aggravated an ankle problem, according to ESPN.

Furthermore, Pogba may miss Thursday’s game against AZ Alkmaar, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to ‘consider omitting’ United’s #6 for the Europa League encounter.

Apparently, Pogba complained of pain and was set to be assessed today before the Baby Faced Assassin finalises his squad for the trip to Holland.

The mercurial Frenchman has missed time recently with an issue, and with Pogba being our best midfielder, it would make sense to allow him to rest up.

ESPN’s sources also tell them that Pogba may well be saved for United’s trip to Newcastle this coming Sunday – a game in which the 20-time Premier League champions simply have to win.

Hopefully, the problem isn’t anything too serious. If we were to lose our most talented player for a prolonged period of time, we’d be in serious trouble.

What does play into our hands is the fact that there’s an international break coming after this weekend’s game – so that would give Pogba another fortnight to heal up and get completely healthy.
