The last game of the hectic festive season is upon us as United head down to Upton Park for the FA Cup 3rd round tie against West Ham United, a side who we beat at Old Trafford in the the league just a few weeks ago.
United haven’t won the cup since we beat Millwall in the 2004 final and its amazing to think that such big names such as Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic haven’t lifted this famous old trophy. Despite this, it is expected that the lineup will be refreshed after the busy festive period and ahead of next weeks clash against Liverpool. Sir Alex will however be mindful of the 4-0 thrashing that West Ham dished out to us a few years ago in the League Cup, so we still anticipate to see plenty of first team regulars in the squad.
Phil Jones is available for the game, and Nemanja Vidic could play after being rested in midweek against Wigan as he makes his comeback from a lengthy injury. As reported earlier at Old Trafford Faithful, Nani is back in training, however he is not expected to feature. Some of our youngsters such as Ryan Tunnicliffe, Scott Wooton and Nick Powell may be hoping to make the bench.
Jordan’s Predicted XI: Lindegaard; Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Fletcher, Scholes, Kagawa, Young; van Persie.
Ben’s Predicted XI: Lindegaard; Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Buttner; Valencia, Fletcher, Scholes, Powell; Welbeck, Hernandez.
