Predicted Man Utd XI vs Brighton (Premier League away, 2020/21)

The Red Devils are looking for their first Premier League points this weekend, with our Predicted Man Utd XI vs Brighton now in. Hopefully, this team has more than enough to get the job done…

Brighton won in convincing fashion last time out, so this will not be an easy game. Graham Potter will have his side organised, though the loss of Yves Bissouma through suspension will hurt them.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to see a bounce-back performance. With that in mind, I’m expecting to see a few changes made by the Red Devils manager.

Don’t forget that with little-to-no pre-season under our belt, and being a game behind in the Premier League, Brighton’s fitness may well be superior. In the end, though, I’m hoping our quality shines through.

Team selection here is tough because United’s squad is looking pretty healthy. With that in mind, I’ve gone for a few changes from the side that lost to Palace last weekend. Anyway, let’s get right into the predicted line-up…

David de Gea does keep his place, though make no mistake about it, Dean Henderson is pushing him hard.

Luke Shaw will start, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka playing on the right-hand side. Harry Maguire gets the nod and will wear the captain’s armband. However, he’ll have a new partner. Eric Bailly deserves to play after an excellent performance in midweek.

The midfield looks a little different. Nemanja Matic has to sit at the base as he offers back four protection. I’ve gone with Donny van de Beek ahead of Paul Pogba, with the latter sitting on the bench as he looks to build up those fitness levels. Bruno Fernandes obviously has to start despite a sub-par performance last weekend.

Mason Greenwood does come into the team on the right-hand side, with Marcus Rashford returning to the left-flank. Anthony Martial leads the line. We need better from our Frenchman this time around.

Again, there’s ample fire-power on the bench should the gaffer need it. However, I’m hopeful we’ll put in a convincing performance and take all three points home.
