Predicted Man Utd XI vs Spurs (Premier League home, 2020/21)

Ahead of the big showdown against Jose Mourinho this weekend, it’s time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs Spurs.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have won one and lost one, though they looked pretty good against Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Now, it’s time to send out a real message by getting one over on Mourinho’s Tottenham.

The game itself will undoubtedly be a tight-knit, hard-fought affair that’ll be won and lost in those small moments. It’s up to the United line-up selected to keep things tight at the back while trying to make things happen up at the other end.

There was a small injury concern in regards to Harry Maguire this week, while there was also rumours of a Bruno Fernandes thigh injury. Both should be available for selection, leaving just Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe as the major casualties.

After our best performance of the season in midweek, Solskjaer’s job is to keep the confidence flowing, while picking up three points and proving that we are the real deal.

A loss here and the pressure would seriously start to mount on the Baby Faced Assassin. It’s a double-edged sword, though, as it may well jolt Edward Woodward into transfer action…

Predicting the team for this one was pretty straightforward for the most part. However, there were a few spots in the XI that were up for grabs. Anyway, let’s get right into it…

David de Gea will start in between the sticks. Although Dean Henderson is playing at an incredibly high level, the Spaniard has been pretty good in games so far this season.

Luke Shaw will get the nod at left-back with Brandon Williams dropping to the bench. Aaron Wan-Bissaka will play over on the right. Eric Bailly comes into the side at centre-half, partnering Harry Maguire.

Donny van de Beek deserves his first Premier League start. He’ll be sitting slightly deeper, working hard, doing the dirty work and trying to move his team further up the pitch. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes both play.

Anthony Martial is yet to find the back of the net this season and a goal here would really help his confidence. Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood make up the front three.
