Manchester United’s biggest game over the last couple of seasons is almost upon us, with Louis van Gaal leading his side out at Wembley Stadium for the first time. The FA Cup hasn’t been won by Manchester United in twelve years, and this represents a real opportunity.
Ahead of the game we’ve decided to try and guess the managers thinking, and work out the predicted line-up; and its a strong one from top to bottom.
David de Gea will obviously start in goal, with the regular back two of Chris Smalling and Daley Blind in front of him. Timothy Fosu-Mensah will provide that excitement from left-back, with Matteo Darmian earning a spot in the side midweek.
Morgan Schneiderlin and the much-maligned Marouane Fellaini will patrol the middle of the field, allowing freedom to an extremely talented front four of Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and finally Marcus Rashford.
Come on you reds!
Check out our predicted XI here:
De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Fosu-Mensah; Schneiderlin, Fellaini; Mata, Rooney, Martial; Rashford.
