Manchester United and CSKA Moscow go head-to-head for the second time in a fortnight, with Louis van Gaal hoping to better the hard-earned 1-1 result in the Russian capital a fortnight ago. Ahead of the game we’ve taken a look at the probable starting line-up.
David de Gea will obviously continue in goal, with Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo both playing in the wing-back roles purely due to a lack of any other options due to injury. Phil Jones has been declared fit and will be able to partner his England teammate Chris Smalling at the heart of defence which is a huge boost.
In the midfield we should see a duo of Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini, and ahead of them we should hopefully see plenty of pace with Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young and Ander Herrera. We may finally get to see Anthony Martial play in his favoured striking role with Wayne Rooney looking likely to sit this one out.
Predicted Starting XI
De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Rojo; Carrick, Fellaini; Lingard, Herrera, Young; Martial.
