Manchester United are back. Jose Mourinho will take charge of his first game as manager in just a matter of hours, and it’s great to have the prospect of proper football just on the horizon. Our new boss will certainly be wanting to kick things off with a win.
Wigan away is the fixture, and we could well see a couple of new players donning the United jersey for the first time, as both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly are in line to be involved.
On top of that we could be about to welcome Luke Shaw back to action after almost a year out with that horrific leg injury – and what a boost it’ll be for the young man.
Honestly, the rest of the team is somewhat of a lottery, but we’ve decided to pick the players that have been involved in pre-season training since the lads returned last week, rather than players who have been involved with their countries at the European Championships.
Check out the predicted XI here:
Romero; Fosu-Mensah, Jones, Bailly, Shaw; Carrick, Herrera; Mkhitaryan, Mata, Depay; Wilson.
