Manchester United could be considering the possibility of bringing in a new manager this summer, with Louis van Gaal’s days looking numbered. All roads seemingly point to Jose Mourinho, with Sky Sports going as far as saying the self-proclaimed Special One has been told the job is his if Van Gaal leaves.
Now one of Jose Mourinho’s former players has had his say on the situation – Portuguese international Deco.
The man who won the Champions League with Mourinho in 2004 said:
“I don’t know if he’s going to United but, if it’s true, in my opinion he is the right man for the job,” he told Omnisport via Goal UK.
“In this moment United needs to bring back all its history and I think Mourinho is the perfect coach to train United.”
Manchester United simply cannot afford to take another risk in terms of employing their next manager. David Moyes was a huge gamble and Louis van Gaal didn’t work out, so Edward Woodward has to get this one exactly right.
Jose Mourinho has plenty of Premier League experience, and is arguably the best manager in the world. He is certainly available this summer, and Manchester United could do a lot worse – Edward Woodward will have to act quickly.
