Premier League side make ambitious loan offer to sign Man United star: report

Manchester United Football Club have been approached by Watford, who want to sign Timothy Fosu-Mensah on a season-long loan deal. That’s according to the Daily Mail, who adds that the self-proclaimed Special One will make a decision after the UEFA Super Cup final.

The Dutchman was a major part of Jose Mourinho’s pre-season tour squad that travelled to both the United States and Norway, and for the most part, Fosu-Mensah did well.

At 19, the versatile starlet hasn’t locked down one particular position within the squad, but in United’s six tour games thus far, he has looked supremely good at right-back. For my money, I’d keep him in and around the squad to be used in a rotational system – because he’s clearly good enough.

I guess it solely depends on just how much game time the manager is planning on giving him this term. If Watford can guarantee him regular Premier League football, then that will obviously be more beneficial for him than playing the odd EFL Cup game.

He’s built like an absolute monster and he’s already shown a maturity way beyond his years. Both Fosu-Mensah and Andreas Pereira deserve their chance to become an integral part of the Old Trafford setup – it just all rests on whether Mourinho deems them ready.
